YOU CAN MAKE AN O-RING!

Four easy steps to fabricate an O-Ring to the exact size you need.

  • Measure length of cord and mark with marking instrument supplied, leaving 1/2" excess at end of cord. Place ends in cutting guide.

  • Cut cord and apply bonding liquid: Insert clean razor blade supplied into cutting guide slot and apply firm pressure downward. Remove cord, keeping cut surfaces clean. Apply a small amount of bonding liquid by dipping ends into liquid and allow to dry (until dull).

  • Set cord into mold: Insert first end of cord half way into mold and lock with screw clamp. Pull to test if cord is firmly locked. Place other end of cord into mold and apply light pressure, forcing both ends together. Lock with screw clamp, being sure to align ends accurately.

  • Vulcanize and cool: After placing top of mold in position, slide mold onto heating element. Set heater to high and leave die on for 13 minutes, then set to low for 7 minutes. Turn off heater and quench die in cooling pan. When cool, remove locks and mold top. Pull out new O-Ring and resume production.

IT'S THAT FAST AND EASY TO MAKE QUALITY O-RINGS!

Uses and Applications for the O-Ring Kit

Continuous value engineering over the past years and the development of a proprietary Viton 2-part bonding liquid with extended shelf life, has produced a kit that forms a professional, permanently bonded O-Ring of equal original quality in a matter of minutes.

At present, over 2000 kits are in service.

Assure your operation the following advantages:

  • Produce O-Ring for static and dynamic seal in less than 20 minutes
  • Meets all in-plant standards for emergency replacements. Avoids Costly Down-Time
  • Eliminates the need to change out "sticky kit bonds", eliminating costly mechanical disassembly and reassembly.
  • Reduces inventories of standard and special sizes
  • Guaranteed results

Automatic Temperature Control System

MF2000 ATCMF system includes one digital PC temperature controller and timer with LED display of die temperature and timed bonding cycle. The total cycle time is 13 minutes. Operating accessories include: One utility cord knife, marking crayon , hot glove and cooling pail. The J type thermocouple and 120VAC and/or 240VAC cartridge heaters are wired into the PC controller. Temperature monitoring ports are provided in all #9596 die series. Pushing the SET button starts the bonding cycle. At the end of the programmed time the system turns the power off and the die is available for cooling and the removal of the finished 0 Rings Manual Hi/Lo timing is eliminated. Total Kit is mounted in a 19 tool box including all optional dies listed in the price list as OPTIONAL DIES. Test cord and additional Spare parts and Adhesives are listed on page 3 of our price list. Existing 1100 and 1200 series kits may be modified with required thermocouple ports by returning the die to Brooks Tech, Inc. or requesting drawings for drilling a 9/16 X 1 thermocouple port for Contact factory for RGA# and refurbishing costs.
